How do you inform parents that their children may be at risk for different ENT related issues, but that they’re preventable or treatable?
Create fact sheets for the different issues and make them available for providers to distribute to their patients.
THE ASK
Inform parents with children already seeing an ENT provider, that they may be at risk for other ENT related issues. Inform without causing alarm.
THE IDEA
Create straightforward fact sheets that outline the possible conditions and situations. For example, children with cochlear implants are at greater risk for bacterial meningtis. However, by following the CDC’s vaccination recommendations for those in this category, this is preventable.
